Tiruchirappalli: Pragyan 2025, the ISO 9001 and 20121 certified annual international techno-managerial festival of NIT Tiruchirappalli, was successfully held from 20th to 23rd February 2025, marking its 21st edition. With the theme ‘Panoptica: Break the Code’, the event showcased an exciting mix of competitions, workshops, panel discussions, and guest lectures, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and innovators across the country.
Grand inauguration and spectacular opening
The festival commenced with a formal inauguration on Day 0, presided over by the chief guest Dr Anbuthambi. The opening ceremony was elevated by a gravity-defying performance by the Ultimate Striderz, setting the stage for the high-energy days to follow.
Day 1: A blend of learning and fun
Day 1 began with the ESI (Exhibition, Sangam, and Ingenium) inauguration, offering a platform to showcase innovative projects and cutting-edge technology. The day featured guest lectures by renowned Dr Velumani and Mr Anil Swarup, offering students valuable insights into entrepreneurship and public administration.
Competitive spirit was at its peak with events like Circuitrix, Catapult Clash, and Mystica, while workshops conducted by Samsung R&D, Upstox, and HCL Technologies gave participants hands-on experience in emerging technologies. The evening ended with artistic brilliance through a Sand and Light Art performance by Vivek Patil and an energetic Tron Dance, leaving the audience captivated.
Day 2: Competitions and creative showcases
The momentum carried forward into Day 2, with highlights including the Old Town Road race and the thrilling Submerge swimming competition. Intellectual challenges like Clique and Clues, Roundem Up, Mystica, and Echoes of Eternity pushed participants to solve puzzles and crack codes under pressure.
Workshops by MongoDB, Autodesk, and Siemens provided industry-relevant training, bridging the gap between academia and the professional world. An engaging guest talk by Dr Vijendar Singh Chauhan, a renowned UPSC interviewer, offered valuable insights into civil service preparation. The evening’s entertainment included a Hand-Shadow Art show by Rekha Vyas, a magical performance by Poshak Dua, and a ventriloquism act by Satyajit Padhye, adding charm to the night.
Day 3: The grand finale
The final day, Day 3, featured technical workshops by Analog Devices, Texas Instruments, and Yoi Robotics, ensuring that technical enthusiasts were well-engaged. Competitive events like Water Rocketry, Robowars, and Friendly Feud drew massive participation, with participants vying for substantial cash prizes.
A guest lecture by VFX expert Mr Srinivas Mohan provided students with a deep dive into the visual effects industry, blending technology with creative storytelling. The much-anticipated Crossfire debate witnessed heated discussions on social and economic issues, showcasing sharp analytical thinking and oratory skills.
The festival concluded with a formal valedictory ceremony, followed by two spectacular proshows. The Mysore Express band delivered an energetic musical performance, while playback singer Antara Mitra mesmerised the audience with her soulful melodies, ending Pragyan 2025 on a high note.
