Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management clinched the Overall Championship for the ninth time at the VTU 27th Inter-Collegiate State-Level Athletic Championship held at Kalpataru Institute of Technology (KIT), Tiptur, from March 26 to 29, 2026.
The Sahyadri athletic team delivered a dominant performance, amassing an impressive 140 points and setting new all-time records at the VTU athletics meet.
Dominance in men’s and women’s categories
Sahyadri showcased exceptional strength across both categories, securing the Men’s Section Championship with 57 points and the Women’s Section Championship with 73 points.
The team also secured second place in the March Past event, adding to their overall achievements.
The championship witnessed participation from 2,232 athletes representing 137 colleges, making the victory a significant accomplishment.
Best athlete honours
Mr. Pranay J. Shetty was honoured as the Best Athlete in the Men’s category, while Ms. Pallavi J. S was named Best Athlete in the Women’s category for their outstanding performances.
