Ten life lessons for graduates

In his Graduation Address, Dr Aditya Gupta shared ten life lessons drawn from his professional journey. He reminded students that neither success nor setbacks are permanent, and that experience is the true foundation of growth.

He emphasised the importance of competence and character, stating that while technical skills build careers, soft skills — particularly communication and persuasion — help individuals rise higher. He encouraged graduates to focus on long-term learning and growth rather than merely pursuing higher compensation packages.

Highlighting integrity and loyalty, he observed that trust shapes the future. He also underscored the importance of physical and mental well-being, describing health as a priceless asset. Dr Gupta urged students to choose their company wisely, acknowledge the sacrifices of their parents and cultivate discipline and determination.

“Sunrise belongs to early risers,” he remarked, encouraging graduates to live with purpose rather than merely exist.

Guidance for the future workforce

In her address, Ms Preeta Saxena expressed her admiration for the graduating class and described the present era as transformative and opportunity-rich. She noted that organisations increasingly value strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

She appreciated the Change Leadership Team of Sahyadri for its vision in shaping capable professionals and commended the faculty for their dedication in mentoring students. She encouraged graduates to cultivate three essential qualities: the courage to take risks, the curiosity to continue learning and the wisdom to remain grounded.

These qualities, she said, would enable them to navigate challenges and grow into responsible professionals and individuals.

Presidential remarks and oath

In his presidential address, the Principal reminded students not to forget the unwavering support of their parents. He informed the graduates that the doors of Sahyadri would always remain open and encouraged them to return as alumni, share experiences, offer internships and placements, and participate in the annual alumni meet held on the last Saturday of every December.

The ceremony concluded with the honouring of all MBA graduates, followed by an oath-taking ceremony led by Dr Sudheer Shetty, reaffirming their commitment to professional ethics and responsible leadership.

The Fifteenth Graduation Day thus celebrated not only academic accomplishment but also the beginning of new leadership journeys for the MBA Batch 2023–25.
