Mangaluru: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) has added yet another feather to its sporting cap with an outstanding national-level performance by Alaister Samuel Rego, a first-year B.Voc Sports Management student, at the All India University Swimming Competition held at SRM University, Chennai, from December 19 to 23.

Silver and bronze in freestyle events

Competing against some of the country’s best university swimmers, Rego delivered a stellar performance by clinching the silver medal in the 400 metres freestyle, clocking an impressive 4 minutes 8.70 seconds. He further strengthened his medal tally by securing the bronze medal in the 200 metres freestyle, finishing with a commendable timing of 1 minute 57.32 seconds.

The twin podium finishes highlighted his endurance, speed and consistency across middle-distance freestyle events, underlining his strong competitive temperament at the national stage.
