Mangaluru: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, through its School of Life Sciences, will host a Science Academies Lecture Workshop on the theme “Advancing Healthcare with Personalized Medicine: Genes, Drugs and Beyond” on August 24 and 25, 2026.
The two-day academic programme will be organised in association with the Joint Science Education Panel of the Science Academies at Eric Mathias Hall, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru.
Experts from premier institutions to participate
The workshop will bring together distinguished academics and researchers from leading institutions, offering participants an opportunity to gain insights into emerging developments in personalised medicine and related areas of healthcare.
The speakers include Dr P. N. Rangarajan, Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru; Dr Ganesh Nagaraju, Professor, Department of Biochemistry, IISc, Bengaluru; Dr Dipshikha Chakravorty, Professor, Department of Microbiology and Cell Biology, IISc, Bengaluru; and Dr Aravind Penmatsa, Associate Professor, Structural Biology Unit, IISc, Bengaluru.
The programme will also feature Dr Ravi Manjithaya, Professor and Chair, Autophagy Laboratory, Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, and Prof. K. Kemparaju, Senior Professor, Department of Studies in Biochemistry, University of Mysore.
Focus on personalised medicine
The workshop’s central theme, “Advancing Healthcare with Personalized Medicine: Genes, Drugs and Beyond,” focuses on the evolving field of personalised healthcare and the relationship between genetics, medicines and advances in biomedical science.
The participation of researchers from biochemistry, microbiology, cell biology, structural biology, molecular biology and genetics is expected to provide participants with exposure to diverse scientific perspectives connected to the field.
