Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), in collaboration with EG India Private Limited, is set to host HackToFuture 4.0, a premier 36-hour overnight hackathon from April 15 to April 17, 2026, at its campus.

The event aims to bring together some of the brightest student innovators from across India, offering a dynamic platform to compete, collaborate, and develop cutting-edge technological solutions.

Building on previous success

HackToFuture has emerged as one of the most anticipated student hackathons in South India. The previous edition saw over 2,000 registrations from 300+ colleges, including premier institutions such as NITs, MIT Manipal, IIITs, and RV College of Engineering.

This year’s edition is expected to surpass previous milestones with higher participation, stronger industry engagement, and prize money exceeding ₹4 lakh.

Key themes and tracks

Participants will compete across four major domains:

  • Cloud Architecture: Designing scalable and cloud-native solutions
  • DevOps: Building automation pipelines and continuous delivery systems
  • Cybersecurity: Tackling emerging digital threats and strengthening security
  • Open Innovation: Encouraging creative, real-world tech solutions open to all students

Strong industry collaboration

EG, a leading software company headquartered in Denmark, plays a key role in the event. With a strong presence across Europe and India, EG is known for delivering specialised software solutions to both private and public sectors.

The company established its development centre in Mangaluru in 2022, reinforcing its commitment to leveraging India’s engineering talent.
