St. Mary’s PU College, Shirva, will conclude its golden jubilee celebrations on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Monsignor Hilary Gonsalves Auditorium. The valedictory ceremony will be presided over by Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, who will unveil the portrait of the institution’s founder, Msgr. Hilary Gonsalves.

Legacy of St. Mary’s PU College
Founded in 1947 by Msgr. Hilary Gonsalves, St. Mary’s PU College has evolved from a high school to a premier junior college, celebrated for academic and extracurricular excellence. It boasts a 96.29% pass rate in the 2023–24 PU exams and a legacy of fostering holistic student development.
Key milestones include:
- Silver Jubilee in 1972 and transition into a junior college
- Hosting of the district-level sports meet for PU colleges in 1993
- Golden Jubilee of the high school in 1998
