Deralakatte, Mangaluru, November 2025: The annual hospital day celebration, Yen Utsav 2025, of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital (YMCH) was held with great enthusiasm at Yendurance Hall, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Deralakatte. The event marked a day of celebration, gratitude, and unity among hospital staff, partners, and stakeholders who contribute to the institution’s healthcare mission.

Felicitation of Yen Mitra and Yen Sahayog partners

A key highlight of the programme was the felicitation of Yen Mitra and Yen Sahayog partners, recognising their significant role in strengthening the hospital’s outreach and service delivery.

The Yen Mitra Award was conferred on:

Hospital Calendar 2026 unveiled

The Hospital Calendar 2026 was officially launched during the event by the dignitaries, symbolising Yenepoya Medical College Hospital’s continued commitment to excellence, service, and continuity in patient care.

Focus on affordable and accessible healthcare

Dr Mukhthar Abdulla, Assistant Medical Superintendent, YMCH, delivered the welcome address. In the keynote address, Dr Nagaraj Shet, Assistant Medical Superintendent, highlighted the hospital’s achievements and its commitment to delivering quality healthcare at affordable costs.

He emphasised that under Ayushman Bharat National Portability, beneficiaries enrolled anywhere in the country can avail treatment at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital. He also highlighted the Yen Arogya Card, which provides highly concessional outpatient and inpatient services for patients not covered under government or social insurance schemes.

Dr Shet further noted the availability of advanced dual robotic surgery units – Da Vinci and SSI Mantra 3.0, offering cashless treatment through various government and social insurance schemes.

Hospital’s role in public welfare highlighted

The Chief Guest, Dr M. A. Wani, Senior Consultant, Yenepoya Group of Hospitals, spoke on the role of hospitals in nation-building, public welfare, and safeguarding the right to life and health. He observed that Yen Utsav serves as an important platform to recognise service excellence while providing hospital staff an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Public trust and service quality as key indicators

Mrs Latha Mallikarjun, Hon’ble MLA, Harapanahalli Constituency, Government of Karnataka, appreciated the hospital’s patient-centric services, particularly in cancer care and other super speciality services, noting the positive feedback received from the public over the years.

Dr M. S. Moosabba, Principal, Yenepoya Medical College, stated that patient trust, daily patient flow, and service quality are the true indicators of a hospital’s success.

Acknowledging partners and staff contributions

Dr Habib Rahman, Medical Superintendent, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, and Chairperson, Yen Utsav 2025, acknowledged the crucial role played by Yen Mitra and Yen Sahayog partners in expanding healthcare outreach across Karnataka and Kerala. He reaffirmed the hospital’s focus on affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by Mr Muhammed Sabith P, Deputy Hospital Operations Officer, and was ably compered by Ms Niliesha Carvallo, Assistant Hospital Operations Officer. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Nelvin Nelson, Deputy Manager, YMCH, followed by prize distribution, cultural performances by staff, and dinner.
