147 nursing graduates awarded degrees at Yenepoya University’s grand ceremony, with an emphasis on value-driven and quality-focused nursing practice.

Honouring future nursing professionals

The 19th Graduation Day of Yenepoya Nursing College took place on December 16, 2024, at the Yendurance Zone on the Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) campus in Deralakatte, Mangalore. The event celebrated the achievements of 147 graduates, who were conferred their degrees in a solemn and inspiring ceremony.

The event began with a graceful procession of graduates, followed by an invocation, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings. Dr. Leena KC, Dean of Yenepoya Nursing College, presided over the ceremony.

Inspiring addresses from distinguished guests

The graduates were motivated by the insights shared by the chief guest, Dr. Deepika C. Khakha, Nursing Advisor to the Government of India. She urged the graduates to focus on value-driven, quality nursing practice, emphasizing the importance of empathy in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. H R Thimmaiah, District Health and Family Welfare Officer, Dakshina Kannada, highlighted the nobility of the nursing profession, advising the graduates to uphold ethical practices and master soft skills to enhance patient satisfaction.

Dr. B H Sripathi Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya University, encouraged the graduates to continually update their knowledge and skills and to harness their innate potential effectively.

Celebrating excellence

The graduates were presented by faculty members Mrs. Janet Miranda, Dr. Binsha Pappachan C, and Dr. Viji Prasad C. Students who excelled academically received medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance.

Dr. Priya Reshma Aranha, Vice Principal, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Prof. Shashikumar Jawadagi delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony was compered by Mrs. Pavithra and Mrs. Vineesha, ensuring a seamless and memorable event.
