Hyderabad: Actor Aadi Saikumar’s upcoming multilingual film with director Navarrasan has been titled Aadi Rudrra. The makers unveiled the film’s first-look poster on the occasion of Dasara, offering a glimpse into its mythological world and positioning the project as a high-concept divine mystery thriller.
The striking poster presents Aadi Saikumar in a rugged, transformed avatar, with battle wounds across his back and dressed in a traditional maroon dhoti. He holds a consecrated brass trident while standing within a flaming mystical mandala, creating an intense visual rooted in spirituality, folklore and the supernatural.
Towering over the actor is a colossal manifestation of Lord Shiva, depicted in his Rudra form. The imposing figure features a glowing third eye, a crescent moon and multiple arms carrying weapons, set against a dramatic backdrop of thunderous clouds.
The foreground and surrounding landscape add to the poster’s ritualistic atmosphere. Villagers carrying flaming torches and ceremonial cattle stand around the clearing, while a riverbed stretches across the foreground. The imagery hints at a narrative involving sacred traditions, ancient beliefs and divine retribution, although the makers have not yet disclosed the film’s detailed storyline.
A story set between 1960 and 1990
Aadi Rudrra is set against a retro backdrop spanning the period from 1960 to 1990. Director Navarrasan has penned the story and screenplay, with the film expected to combine period elements with mythology and mystery.
The first-look poster suggests that the project will rely heavily on atmosphere and visual storytelling to establish its distinctive world. The Rudra imagery, traditional attire and depiction of village rituals indicate a narrative closely connected to local customs and supernatural beliefs.
However, the makers are yet to reveal further details about the characters, the central mystery or the events that drive the story. More information is expected as the production progresses.
Third production venture for Trishul Entertainments
The film is being produced by Prashanth G Rudrappa under the banner of Trishul Entertainments. It marks the production house’s third venture, following projects including Dandupalya and Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, starring Golden Star Ganesh.
With Aadi Rudrra, the production banner is backing a project that seeks to bring together a period setting, mythological imagery and a mystery-driven narrative. The film’s multilingual release plan also indicates an effort to reach audiences across several major Indian film industries.
Ajaneesh Loknath leads the technical team
Music director B Ajaneesh Loknath has been brought on board to compose both the soundtrack and the original score. Known for his work on films such as Kantara and Vikrant Rona, Ajaneesh has experience creating music that complements atmospheric storytelling and folklore-inspired narratives.
Cinematography is being handled by AJ Shetty, while Kaani Studio is responsible for the publicity designs.
The combination of a mythology-oriented concept and a period backdrop places considerable importance on the film’s visual treatment, production design and background score. Further details about the technical team and the film’s production scale have not yet been announced.
Five-language release planned
Aadi Rudrra is planned for a simultaneous release in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. The makers are yet to announce the release date.
Filming is scheduled to begin in January 2027. Details about the female lead and the extended ensemble cast are expected to be announced in the coming days.
With its Dasara first-look reveal, the film has introduced Aadi Saikumar in a markedly different visual avatar. The coming months are expected to bring more clarity on its storyline, cast and production plans as the project moves towards the start of shooting.
