In November 2011, just a week after the birth of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s daughter, Aaradhya, the Bachchan family chose to address the media’s curiosity with a press conference at their office, ABC Corp, Juhu, Mumbai. Preferring privacy over a public appearance, Amitabh Bachchan spoke on behalf of the family, expressing gratitude for the media’s respect during this special moment.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Heartfelt Words
The proud grandfather, overwhelmed with joy, shared, “Today, we brought our betiya home. We are very happy. Hamare ghar Laxmi aayi hai. Abhishek, Aishwarya, and betiya are all well and in good health. Life changes when a new life comes into your house. I would say Laxmi Ratna has arrived in our house.”
At the time, Aaradhya’s name was yet to be decided. Amitabh revealed their first trip with her was to ‘Pratiksha’, their family’s first home, before heading to ‘Jalsa.’ He emphasized the sentimental value, stating, “We first took her to Pratiksha because that is our first home. After taking blessings from my ma and babuji, we have come to Jalsa.”
Abhishek on Balancing Fatherhood and Career
When asked if his acting career would affect his time with his daughter, Abhishek confidently replied, “I am a child of two actors. They never missed a school play or sports day. I never felt a void. I will get the best training (gesturing to his father). So I think I will manage.”
A Love Story Turned Fairytale
Abhishek and Aishwarya’s journey began as co-stars in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000) and Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), blossoming into romance during the filming of Umrao Jaan (2005-2006). They tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a lavish wedding, marking the beginning of a beautiful chapter in their lives.
