Tamil actor Karthi sustained a leg injury while filming Sardar 2 in Mysuru. The accident occurred during an action sequence, after which he was rushed to a hospital for assessment. Doctors have advised him to rest for a week, leading the filmmakers to temporarily halt the shoot and return to Chennai. Production will resume once Karthi recovers.
Directed by PS Mithran, Sardar 2 features Karthi in dual roles and boasts a star-studded cast, including SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, and Ashika Ranganath. The film, which began shooting in mid-2024, has completed 80% of its production.
This is the second setback for Sardar 2, as a stuntman, Ezhumalai, tragically lost his life on set in July due to a fatal fall. The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
