Prakash Raj, also known as Prakash Rai, who has been a vocal critic of Narendra Modi and his government’s policies, is allegedly considering joining the BJP. However, when these rumors began circulating, some found it hard to believe and questioned the authenticity of the news.
Responding to the speculation on Thursday, Prakash Raj addressed a tweet that initiated the rumors. The tweet, posted by a user with the handle @theskindoctor13, claimed, “Eminent actor Prakash Raj will join BJP today at 3 pm.” In response, Prakash Raj tweeted, “I guess they must have realized they were not rich enough (ideologically) to buy me… What do you think, friends? #JustAsking.”
He clarified that he is not joining the BJP, putting an end to the speculation. Many netizens did not believe @theskindoctor13’s tweet, suggesting that its intention was to provide humor and light-heartedness to users.
While politics is not new to the National Award-winning actor, Prakash Raj unsuccessfully contested from the Bengaluru Central constituency in 2019. He is known for his rational thinking and has appeared in films across various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam.
