Mumbai: Can ego become bigger than love? This question forms the central theme of Main Na Raha Mera, an upcoming romantic musical starring Adhyayan Suman and debutant Divita Rai. The makers have unveiled the film’s first motion poster, offering a glimpse into a story of love, longing, heartbreak and ego.
The motion poster opens with the haunting question, “Kya guroor ishq se bada ho sakta hai?”, setting the tone for the emotional story. The teaser of Main Na Raha Mera is scheduled to release on September 16, 2026.
A story of love, separation and reunion
Main Na Raha Mera follows Raj, a young man whose understanding of romance has been influenced by the classic love stories of the 1990s. After losing his Simran to a one-sided love, Raj eventually crosses paths with her again after 12 years.
Their unexpected reunion brings back emotions he had never completely left behind while forcing him to confront the pain and memories associated with their past.
The film explores whether love can survive the wounds caused by time, separation and ego.
Adhyayan Suman calls film a special journey
Adhyayan Suman, who plays the lead role, described Main Na Raha Mera as a project that is particularly close to his heart.
The actor said the making of the film itself became a story, with the team spending three years bringing the project together. He also expressed gratitude towards producer Dharmesh Sangani and the entire team for standing firmly behind the film.
Suman also praised debutant Divita Rai and music composer Rahul Nair, describing the latter’s work as one of the finest and most soulful music albums of the year.
He further acknowledged editor Shubham Srivastav for his efforts in shaping the film.
Divita Rai makes acting debut
For Divita Rai, Main Na Raha Mera marks her acting debut.
Speaking about her character, Rai said she gets to portray a woman experiencing layered emotions, including both beautiful and difficult moments. She described exploring those emotions as an actor as a special experience.
The debutant also expressed hope that audiences would connect with her character’s journey and recognise some of their own emotions in the story.
