Bollywood actor Ahan Shetty, who has been receiving a positive response for his performance in the recently released film Border 2, has spoken openly about the emotional weight and expectations that came with being part of a franchise closely associated with his father.

Speaking to Indo-Asian News Service after the film’s release, Ahan said he was mentally prepared for comparisons with Suniel Shetty, who delivered an iconic performance in the original Border.

Missed moment with father

Ahan revealed that he and his father were unable to shoot a key scene together in Border 2, something he admitted was unfortunate. “That last scene that was there, unfortunately, we weren’t able to shoot that together,” he said, adding that the connection between the two films made the experience even more intense for him.

He acknowledged feeling nervous while performing a scene that mirrored a moment his father had earlier portrayed. “I knew those comparisons were going to come. I knew that pressure was going to be there,” he said honestly.

Balancing pressure and individuality

The actor also spoke about the responsibility of carrying forward his father’s legacy while trying to remain true to his own identity. He said he consciously avoids letting expectations and comparisons influence his mindset, as it could affect his performance and decision-making.

“I try to be honest to myself and honest to my audience,” Ahan said, explaining that he focuses on authenticity rather than external pressure or fan expectations.

Gratitude for audience response

Reflecting on the reception to Border 2, Ahan said the appreciation he has received since the film’s release has reassured him. “From the love and appreciation I’ve been getting, I guess I’ve done a good job,” he said, adding that audiences seem to be accepting him as he carries his father’s cinematic legacy forward
