Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has strongly urged the U.S. government to enforce stricter regulations on artificial intelligence, following the circulation of a deepfake video that falsely depicted her and other well-known figures. The viral clip, produced by AI specialist Ori Bejerano from Tel Aviv, features Johansson, Drake, Natalie Portman, Steven Spielberg, and others sporting a T-shirt mocking Kanye West in response to his controversial Super Bowl advertisement.

The actress voiced her alarm over the dangers of AI-generated misinformation, emphasizing the need to combat manipulated media, regardless of its intended message. “If we don’t take a stand against AI misuse, we risk losing our grip on reality,” she stated. Johansson also criticized Washington’s failure to act, calling for urgent legislative measures to curb AI’s unchecked influence.

This isn’t Johansson’s first battle with AI. Last year, she threatened legal action against OpenAI, after discovering that one of their chatbot voices closely mimicked her own, leading to its subsequent removal.

Meanwhile, Bejerano continues to share his AI-generated content online, celebrating the video’s virality while facing backlash over its ethical implications. The controversy highlights growing concerns over AI’s ability to distort truth and impersonate public figures, fueling the debate on the necessity of global AI regulations.
