Melbourne will roll out the red carpet for actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan, who has been named Chief Guest of the 16th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), scheduled for 14–24 August 2025.
In honour of his illustrious four-decade career, the festival will present a dedicated retrospective featuring a curated selection of his most celebrated films. The tribute will culminate with the screening of Khan’s latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, which follows a basketball coach guiding a team of neurodivergent adults. The film has won widespread praise for its compassionate depiction of inclusion and community spirit.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Khan said he looks forward to engaging with audiences and celebrating stories that “highlight neurodivergence and empathy.”
IFFM 2025 will offer an exciting ten days of films, masterclasses, and cultural events, with Khan’s retrospective poised to be a festival highlight.
