Mumbai (Maharashtra): One of the biggest animated blockbusters of the year, Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavatar Narsimha, is set to arrive on OTT this week. The makers on Thursday announced that the film will premiere on Netflix on Friday, 19 September, at 12:30 pm.
Netflix confirms the release
“Bhakti shakti ka roop legi. Aa raha hai Mahavatar Narsimha. Watch Mahavatar Narsimha, out 19 September, 12:30 PM, on Netflix,” read the official announcement from the makers. Netflix India also confirmed the news, posting: “The roar of this lion can topple a kingdom.”
The film will be available to stream in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam — widening its reach to audiences across India and abroad.

Box office triumph before OTT debut
Mahavatar Narsimha originally hit theatres on 25 July 2025 and quickly became a nationwide phenomenon. Within 10 days of release, it crossed ₹100 crore at the global box office, earning the title of the highest-grossing animated film in India.
The makers recently marked another major achievement — completing 50 days in cinemas. Celebrating the milestone, the production house posted:

This opening chapter tells the story of Lord Narasimha, the half-man, half-lion avatar of Vishnu, who descends to protect devotees and restore dharma. The combination of mythology, grand visuals, and a spiritual narrative resonated with audiences across age groups.
