Chennai: Actress Bhagyashrii Borse, who plays the female lead in actor Mohanlal’s upcoming film Operation Ganga, has described the opportunity to work with the Malayalam superstar as a blessing.
The actress shared a picture with Mohanlal on Instagram and expressed her admiration for the veteran actor, saying that working alongside him has allowed her to see cinema from his perspective and learn from his experience.
“Dearest @mohanlal sir, To be your co-actor feels like a blessing. Every day of shoot, I get to see cinema through your eyes and learn from you.. you are truly gifted sir,” Bhagyashrii wrote in her post.
‘Operation Ganga’ shooting in Georgia
According to sources close to the film’s unit, the team was recently in Georgia, where important sequences for Operation Ganga were being filmed.
The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan, who is known for helming the devotional blockbuster Meppadiyan. The project was earlier being referred to by its tentative title L367 before being officially titled Operation Ganga.
The film takes its title from India’s evacuation mission launched in 2022 to bring back Indian citizens, including thousands of students, who were stranded in Ukraine following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.
With the tagline ‘A Nation’s Promise’, the film is set against the backdrop of the international evacuation operation and aims to portray the challenges surrounding the mission.
Mohanlal, Arjun Rampal lead cast
Along with Mohanlal and Bhagyashrii Borse, the film features Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and actors Parthiban and Adil Hussain in pivotal roles.
The project has also brought together a prominent technical crew. Cinematography is being handled by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, who has worked on Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Production design is by Rajeevan, known for his work on films including GOAT, Meiyazhagan, Amaran and Kathanar.
Strong technical team
Action sequences for Operation Ganga are being choreographed by Sea Young Oh, who has worked on films including Dhurandhar and Kill.
Music composer Shashwat Sachdev, who has also worked on Dhurandhar, is composing the music for the upcoming film.
The technical team includes editor Shameer Mohammed and sound designer Bishwadeep Chatterjee. Bishwadeep is known for his work on films such as Dhurandhar, Uri: The Surgical Strike, 3 Idiots and Padmaavat.
VFX supervision is being handled by K V Sanjit, while Melvy J, known as the costume director of Lokah, is overseeing costume design. Makeup is by Ronex Xavier.
Gokulam Gopalan backs the project
Operation Ganga is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. Baiju Gopalan and V C Praveen are the co-producers, while Krishnamoorthy serves as executive producer.
The film brings together actors and technicians from different industries, with the makers mounting the project on an international scale.
As filming continues, Bhagyashrii’s appreciation of Mohanlal highlights her experience of working alongside one of Malayalam cinema’s most established performers.
