Director Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming film Ikkis is set to hit theatres on January 1, 2026, and marks the posthumous screen appearance of legendary actor Dharmendra.

Ahead of its release, Dharmendra’s son Bobby Deol attended a private screening along with his wife Tanya Deol and their son Aryaman Deol. Paparazzi videos from the evening show Bobby stepping out of his car, folding his hands to greet photographers, and appearing visibly emotional as he left after watching his father’s final film.

Bobby was seen dressed casually in a white sweatshirt and denim jeans, while Tanya and Aryaman sat quietly in the backseat as the family departed.

Dharmendra, fondly remembered as the He-Man of Bollywood, passed away on November 24, aged 89, just days before his 90th birthday. Recently, his children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Esha Deol shared a behind-the-scenes video from the sets of Ikkis, filmed on the day Dharmendra wrapped his shoot. In the clip, the veteran actor thanked the team and director, calling the experience “happily sad” as it marked his final day on set.

Sunny Deol also penned a heartfelt note remembering his father, writing that Dharmendra had “blessed us with his final film” and urged audiences to celebrate him in cinema halls this New Year.

About Ikkis

Ikkis is a biographical war drama based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, a Param Vir Chakra awardee who attained martyrdom at the age of 21 during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 India–Pakistan War. The title reflects the age at which he laid down his life.

Agastya Nanda portrays Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, while Jaideep Ahlawat plays a key role. Dharmendra essays the role of Brigadier ML Khetarpal (Retd.), Arun’s father. The ensemble cast also includes Simar Bhatia, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher, Rahul Dev and Vivaan Shah.

With its emotional backstory and patriotic theme, Ikkis is expected to be a poignant tribute to both a fallen war hero and a towering icon of Indian cinema.
