Mumbai : Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is said to have given his daughter Shweta Bachchan his lavish Mumbai bungalow, “Prateeksha.” The bungalow has a 50 crore rupee value.
Big B has a particular place in his heart for the bungalow because it was his first residence in Juhu, where he lived with his parents, Teji and Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan tied the knot in Prateeksha in 2007.
Prateeksha is reportedly worth more than Rs 50 crore, and on November 8 the ownership transfer was formally completed through two different gift deeds with a Rs 50.65 lakh stamp duty payment.
Bachchan owns two other bungalows in Mumbai — Jalsa and Janak.
The cine icon had in the 14th season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ revealed how the bungalow got its name, stating that it was his father who christened the house.
“This name was given by my father… There is a line in one of my father’s poems which says, ‘Swagat sabke liye yahan par nehin kisike liye Prateeksha’,” he had said.
