A tragic accident on the set of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s upcoming film Love & War claimed the life of a 42-year-old carpenter during the early hours of Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Chandradhari Yadav, who was working at Royal Pump Studio in Goregaon East when the incident occurred at around 3 am.

Fatal accident under investigation

According to the Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union (FSSAMU), Yadav suffered a fatal accident reportedly linked to a short circuit while carrying out work on the film set.

Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, and the cause of death is yet to be officially confirmed.

The accident has cast a shadow over the production of the highly anticipated film, which features actors Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in leading roles.

Production house announces compensation

Yadav is survived by his wife and two daughters.

In response to the tragedy, Bhansali Productions has reportedly announced a compensation package of ₹40 lakh for the bereaved family.

The gesture has been welcomed by industry workers and union representatives, who have also stressed the importance of ensuring safe working conditions on film sets.

Renewed focus on workplace safety

The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding workplace safety for technicians, labourers and support staff involved in large-scale film productions.

Industry observers have called for strict adherence to safety protocols, regular inspections and enhanced protective measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

As investigations continue, members of the film fraternity and workers’ organisations have expressed condolences to Yadav’s family and urged authorities to determine the exact cause of the accident.
