BENGALURU: The dispute involving Kannada actor Dhanveer Gowda and Vijayalakshmi, wife of actor Darshan, has taken a fresh turn after Dhanveer’s father, Thimmegowda, approached Rajajinagar police station with allegations of trespass, disturbance and death threats. Police have registered a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) based on his complaint.
Thimmegowda has accused Vijayalakshmi, her manager Nagaraj and two other men, identified as Boja and Bottle Pramod, of creating a disturbance at his residence on October 21. According to his complaint, the incident occurred at around 8.30 pm while Dhanveer was away in Mysuru.
The complaint comes amid an escalating dispute between the parties, with a separate complaint already filed against Dhanveer by Vijayalakshmi’s manager over alleged verbal abuse during a phone conversation.
Thimmegowda alleges disturbance at residence
According to Thimmegowda’s complaint, he was at home with his wife Bharathi, mother Jayamma and daughter Nalinakshi when Vijayalakshmi and Nagaraj arrived at the residence.
The visitors allegedly rang the doorbell and asked about Dhanveer and his father. The family reportedly informed them that Dhanveer was away and that Thimmegowda was having dinner.
The situation allegedly escalated when Nagaraj saw a relative, Ajay Gowda, inside the house and mistook him for a rowdy. Thimmegowda claimed that Nagaraj began shouting and questioning the family about the presence of other people at the residence.
These details are based on the complainant’s account and have not been independently established.
Two men allegedly arrived at the house
Thimmegowda further alleged that Vijayalakshmi contacted a person named Gourav Shetty and asked him to send Boja and Bottle Pramod to the residence. Nagaraj also allegedly contacted the two men, who arrived shortly afterwards.
When Thimmegowda questioned them about their identities and why they had come to the house, Bottle Pramod reportedly claimed to be Vijayalakshmi’s brother.
According to the complaint, one of the men made threatening remarks about Dhanveer, suggesting that they knew what to do if they could get him to come there.
Thimmegowda said he warned the group that he would contact the police. The visitors allegedly left together in a car while continuing to shout.
He has urged the police to summon the four individuals for questioning and take appropriate legal action over the alleged unlawful entry, disturbance and threats.
Separate complaint against Dhanveer
The latest complaint follows a separate complaint filed by Nagaraj against Dhanveer at Rajarajeshwari Nagar police station.
Nagaraj alleged that the actor verbally abused and threatened him during a phone conversation. Reports said he submitted an audio recording of the conversation to the police, who registered an NCR in connection with the complaint.
Police were reportedly preparing to call Dhanveer for questioning in that matter.
Dhanveer subsequently responded to the allegations in media interactions, stating that he had reasons for his reaction and indicating that he would disclose further details. His claims and the allegations against him remain subject to verification.
Dispute moves from social media to police stations
The disagreement has also played out on social media, where posts by Vijayalakshmi and Dhanveer were interpreted as indirect exchanges concerning their differences.
The dispute has since moved beyond online statements, with complaints filed by both sides’ associates and family members. The latest complaint from Thimmegowda has added another dimension to the confrontation.
Police investigations will be required to establish the circumstances of the alleged incident at Dhanveer’s residence and assess the allegations made in both complaints.
For now, the NCR registered on Thimmegowda’s complaint records the allegations brought before the police; it does not establish that the accused committed an offence. Further developments will depend on the police inquiry and any additional evidence gathered.
