Diljit Dosanjh embraces Kolkata’s cultural legacy with a visit to Indian Coffee House

Diljit Dosanjh is celebrated for his electrifying performances and his passion for immersing himself in local cultures. Before his much-anticipated concert in Kolkata, the global sensation took time to explore one of the city’s historic treasures: the Indian Coffee House.

Photos and videos of Diljit’s visit quickly went viral on social media, shared by his team, Diljit Global. In the footage, the singer is seen climbing the venue’s famous staircase, savoring a cup of milk coffee by the window, and interacting with the staff. Fans expressed their delight, with many commenting on how his visit touched the cultural spirit of the city.

Diljit’s time in Kolkata also included visits to other iconic spots. He meditated and prayed at the Dakshineswar Temple, explored the city in a classic yellow taxi, and found solace by the Hooghly River.

A cultural icon
The Indian Coffee House is a living monument, with a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. Initially named Albert Hall, it became the Indian Coffee House in the 1940s and grew into a center for intellectuals, artists, and activists. It has hosted greats like Rabindranath Tagore, Amartya Sen, and Subhas Chandra Bose.

Diljit’s tour has been a resounding success, captivating fans in cities like Delhi and Kolkata, and it continues with upcoming shows in Mumbai.
