Mumbai: The makers of Drishyam: The Conclusion have announced that the trailer of the much-awaited Ajay Devgn starrer will be released on September 9, ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on October 2, 2026.
The announcement has renewed anticipation around the next chapter of the popular Drishyam franchise, with the latest poster featuring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and other members of the cast. The poster also hints at a new threat facing the Salgaonkar family.
Trailer set to reveal new chapter
The makers announced the trailer release date alongside a message suggesting that Vijay Salgaonkar and his family will once again find themselves under pressure.
“Iss baar khatra aur bhi bada hai. Salgaonkar parivaar…wapas ghere mein hai,” the makers wrote while sharing the announcement.
With the storyline being kept under wraps, the trailer is expected to provide the first substantial glimpse into the latest events surrounding the Salgaonkar family.
The franchise has previously centred on Vijay’s efforts to protect his family while dealing with the consequences of a crime and the investigation that follows. The new film is expected to continue that narrative while introducing another challenge for the family.
Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar
Ajay Devgn reprises his popular role as Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam: The Conclusion. Shriya Saran also returns as Nandini Salgaonkar.
Vijay’s character has become closely associated with the franchise’s themes of family, planning and survival under pressure. His ability to anticipate the moves of investigators and construct an elaborate account of events has been central to the previous films.
The makers have not yet revealed how the new threat will affect Vijay and his family or whether the events will directly follow the unresolved tensions from the earlier instalments.
The September 9 trailer is therefore expected to provide important clues about the direction of the story without revealing its major twists.
Abhishek Pathak directs the film
Drishyam: The Conclusion is directed by Abhishek Pathak, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.
The film is presented by Star Studio18 and produced by Panorama Studios. Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak have backed the project as producers.
The production team has so far maintained secrecy around the film’s plot, allowing the trailer and promotional campaign to gradually reveal details about the new instalment.
Salgaonkar family faces another threat
The latest poster and announcement indicate that the Salgaonkar family will once again come under scrutiny.
The phrase used by the makers suggests that the danger facing the family could be greater than what they have encountered previously. However, the exact nature of the threat remains undisclosed.
The suspense surrounding the storyline is likely to remain a major part of the film’s promotional campaign, particularly because the Drishyam franchise has built its appeal around twists, investigations and Vijay’s attempts to stay ahead of the authorities.
Fans will therefore be watching the trailer closely for clues about the characters, investigation and the circumstances that bring the Salgaonkar family back into the spotlight.
Film arrives on Gandhi Jayanti
Following the trailer release on September 9, Drishyam: The Conclusion is scheduled to reach cinemas on October 2, 2026.
The release date coincides with Gandhi Jayanti, giving the film a major national holiday window for its theatrical run.
With Ajay Devgn returning as Vijay Salgaonkar, Shriya Saran reprising her role and Abhishek Pathak once again leading the direction, the third chapter carries significant expectations from audiences familiar with the franchise.
The trailer will be the first major opportunity for viewers to understand how the story has evolved and what new challenge awaits the Salgaonkar family.
