Hyderabad: The shooting of Prabhas-starrer Fauzi has been temporarily suspended following a tragic road accident near Hyderabad that claimed the life of a crew member and left five others injured. The incident occurred while members of the film unit were travelling to Ramoji Film City.

According to reports, the vehicle carrying the crew lost control and crashed into cement divider blocks near Abdullapurmet on the outskirts of the city. The accident reportedly took place close to the Toopranpet Bridge under the jurisdiction of the Choutuppal Police Station.

One dead, five injured in accident

The crash resulted in the death of one crew member, while five others sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been officially disclosed.

The incident has cast a shadow over the film’s production, with the team halting the shoot as a mark of respect and to address the situation. As of now, the makers of Fauzi have not issued an official statement regarding the accident.

Film nearing completion

Despite the unfortunate setback, Fauzi is said to be in its final stages of production. Reports indicate that nearly 80 per cent of the shoot has already been completed, with only a few action sequences featuring Prabhas remaining.

The film, backed by Mythri Movie Makers, is still expected to meet its tentative release timeline. Industry sources suggest that the makers are aiming for a Dussehra release, which could see Prabhas appearing on the big screen more than once this year.

Makers warn against leaked content

The development comes shortly after the film’s team issued a warning regarding leaked visuals from the sets. Several images from the shoot had surfaced on social media, prompting the makers to take a firm stance.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the team urged users not to circulate unauthorised content.

“It has come to our attention that certain accounts are circulating leaked images from the sets of Fauzi. Please treat this as a strict warning – any such content will be reported, and necessary action will be taken against those involved,” the statement read.

The makers further emphasised that such leaks could impact the audience’s viewing experience and diminish the film’s impact.

“These leaks compromise the experience we are carefully building. What’s coming on the big screen will be far bigger and worth the wait,” the statement added.

Star-studded cast and expectations

Fauzi features a strong cast led by Prabhas, along with Imanvi in a prominent role. Veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada are also part of the film, adding to its appeal.

With high expectations surrounding the project, especially given Prabhas’ pan-India popularity, the film has already generated considerable buzz among fans.

Safety concerns in film productions

The accident has once again highlighted the importance of safety protocols during film shoots, particularly when large crews travel frequently between locations. Industry observers have stressed the need for stricter safety measures to prevent such tragic incidents.

Ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, trained drivers, and adherence to road safety norms are critical, especially for large-scale productions involving extensive logistics.

Conclusion

The tragic accident near Hyderabad has brought Fauzi’s shoot to a halt at a crucial stage of production. While the film remains on track for release, the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the risks involved behind the scenes. As the team regroups and resumes work in due course, the focus will remain on ensuring safety while completing the project. Meanwhile, the industry and fans alike mourn the loss of a crew member whose contribution was part of the film’s journey.
