Ganesh Acharya talks about Anil Kapoor collaboration
Speaking about the response to the song, Acharya said he was pleased to see the track receiving strong appreciation and gaining traction online.
He described Baat Khatki Toh Jeet Pakki as a culturally rooted song with a catchy hook that stays with listeners.
“The moment I heard it, I could visualise the energy and celebration we could create on screen,” Acharya said, explaining how quickly the concept for the performance came together.
The project also gave him an opportunity to work with Anil Kapoor, something the choreographer said he had wanted to do for a long time.
“I had wanted to work with Anil sir for a long time, and I’m glad Star Plus brought us together for India Ke Top 1%,” he said.
Kapoor performs Qawwali for the first time
The performance is particularly significant as it marks Anil Kapoor’s first Qawwali appearance.
Acharya said the choreography was developed specifically with Kapoor’s established screen persona and performance style in mind. He wanted the actor to remain comfortable while ensuring that the performance retained the energy expected from a Qawwali.
“Since this was his first Qawwali performance, we created something that complemented his jhakaas style,” Acharya said.
According to the choreographer, Kapoor’s enthusiasm became an important part of the final performance.
“His infectious energy elevated our vision and turned the song into a celebration,” he added.
