Mumbai: Star Plus has unveiled the title of its upcoming romantic family drama featuring Gaurav Khanna and Shraddha Arya. Titled Dil Ki Bewafaiyaan, the show is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and marks the first onscreen collaboration between the two popular television actors.
The channel announced the title through a promotional video, following an earlier teaser that showed Gaurav and Shraddha arriving at the Balaji Telefilms office. The teaser had sparked curiosity among viewers about their upcoming project.
The show is reportedly being prepared for a launch towards the end of November, with the final premiere date and time yet to be officially announced by Star Plus. It is also reportedly being considered for the 9 pm slot.
Gaurav Khanna returns to daily fiction
Dil Ki Bewafaiyaan marks Gaurav Khanna’s return to daily television fiction following his association with Anupamaa. The actor, who has earned considerable popularity through his television performances, will be working with Ektaa R Kapoor for the first time.
For Shraddha Arya, the project marks her comeback after her long-running association with Kundali Bhagya. She also reunites with Balaji Telefilms, making this her second collaboration with the production house.
The pairing of Gaurav and Shraddha is among the key attractions of the upcoming show, which is being positioned as a romantic family drama.
Ektaa Kapoor excited about the pairing
Ektaa R Kapoor had earlier expressed her excitement about bringing the two actors together, saying she had wanted to see them share the screen for a long time.
“Both have earned so much love from viewers, and I’ve wanted to see them share the screen for a long time. Now that it’s finally happening, I’m excited, nervous, and already imagining how audiences will react to them together!” she had said.
The producer had also spoken about exploring a love story after the conclusion of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.0. Describing the new project as the beginning of another story for television audiences, she said she hoped viewers would connect with it as deeply as they had with her earlier shows.
“The love viewers have given my shows over the years means so much to me, and with every new story, I hope to give them something they’ll connect with just as deeply. Kyunki gave viewers a finale to remember. Now, it’s time to give them a new beginning they’ll fall in love with,” Ektaa said.
Preparations underway for November launch
Preparations for Dil Ki Bewafaiyaan are reportedly in progress. Gaurav Khanna and Shraddha Arya recently participated in a puja ahead of the project, with photographs and videos from the occasion circulating on social media.
Filming is yet to begin, according to the available reports. The set of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.0 is also reportedly being revamped for the new production.
Although the show is tentatively expected to arrive in the last week of November, Star Plus is yet to confirm its premiere date and broadcast schedule.
With Gaurav and Shraddha coming together for the first time and Ektaa Kapoor backing the project, Dil Ki Bewafaiyaan is set to introduce a new romantic family drama to the channel’s lineup.
