Its continued theatrical performance comes after the film completed 50 days in cinemas, giving it a lengthy run compared with many recent theatrical releases.

The film’s performance has also been supported by its devotional subject and its story based on the early life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba.

Film planned as first part of trilogy

Directed and produced by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is planned as the first instalment of a trilogy.

The film is based on Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life. It is set in pre-Independence India and follows the early life of Lakshmi Narayan.

The story begins with Lakshmi Narayan losing his mother. Following the tragedy, the young boy leaves his home and embarks on a journey across northern India in search of God.

During his journey, he encounters different people and experiences that shape his spiritual path. The narrative eventually follows his transformation into Neem Karoli Baba, who went on to become a revered spiritual figure.

The film uses this journey as the central narrative while exploring themes of faith, spiritual discovery, meditation and service.

Shobhinaw Satyaa leads the cast

Shobhinaw Satyaa plays Lakshmi Narayan, the central character whose journey forms the basis of the film.

The supporting cast includes Chandan K Anand, who plays Ram Nandan Bhosale, while Nikhil Dubey appears as Sudhir.

Anil Rastogi plays Mahant Ji, Sugandha Malhotra portrays Sudhi and Bhagvandas Patel plays Gopal.

The cast also features Neha Paranjpe as Parvati, Udaysinh Rajput as Banshidhar and Purnima Tiwari as Ram Beti.

The ensemble supports the film’s period setting and the protagonist’s journey across northern India.

Film continues its theatrical run

Completing 50 days in theatres marks a significant stage in the film’s theatrical journey. Its Day 50 performance shows that the movie continued to record screenings across thousands of shows even after several weeks of release.

The film’s reported India nett collection of Rs 291.53 crore and worldwide gross of Rs 381.35 crore have placed the Rs 400 crore milestone within reach.

To cross Rs 400 crore worldwide, Hanuman Ansh would need another Rs 18.65 crore in gross collections.

The film’s performance in the coming days will determine how quickly it approaches the milestone. Its continued presence in theatres also gives the film an opportunity to add to its worldwide total beyond its 50th day.

For now, the Vishal Chaturvedi directorial has completed 50 days with a substantial theatrical run, while its devotional story about Lakshmi Narayan’s journey towards becoming Neem Karoli Baba continues to drive its box-office campaign.
