NEW DELHI: Amid legal turbulence, veteran actor Paresh Rawal’s exit from Hera Pheri 3 has sparked a major controversy. However, actor Akshay Kumar’s legal team remains hopeful that Rawal might return to the beloved franchise.

Rawal had recently withdrawn from the project unexpectedly, prompting Akshay Kumar’s production banner, Cape of Good Films, to issue a legal notice demanding ₹25 crore in damages. Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner at Parinam Law Associates, confirmed that Rawal has not replied to the notice.

Tidke told PTI, “The franchise has suffered significantly. Contracts had already been signed, a trailer was shot, and around three-and-a-half minutes of the film were filmed.” She said the production was shocked by Rawal’s sudden announcement of disassociation.

The legal representative highlighted the financial commitments involved—covering costs for cast, crew, equipment, and logistics. “There’s a lot at stake,” she emphasized.

According to her, the abrupt withdrawal also caused reputational harm, especially to actors who stayed committed. “The fans, too, are disheartened. However, we are still hopeful that the matter will be resolved amicably,” Tidke added.

Suniel Shetty previously mentioned that both he and Akshay were emotionally affected by Rawal’s departure, indicating the actor’s role remains critical to the franchise’s future.

While Paresh Rawal’s return is not confirmed, the lawyer’s comments suggest there’s still a glimmer of reconciliation ahead.
