Mumbai: Hombale Films is continuing to expand its presence across Indian cinema with a diverse slate spanning multiple languages, genres and formats. The production house behind successful titles such as the KGF franchise, Kantara, the Salaar franchise and Mahavatar Narsimha has also broadened its activities beyond film production into distribution.
The banner’s growing portfolio reflects its focus on developing projects for audiences across different regional industries while also exploring opportunities in international markets.
Kantara scores big at SIIMA 2026
Hombale Films’ Kantara emerged as one of the major winners at the recently held SIIMA Awards 2026, taking home nine awards.
The recognition adds to the film’s continuing impact within Indian cinema and comes as the production house builds on the success of its Kannada-language projects while strengthening its wider pan-India presence.
Kantara, which combined folklore, mythology and regional cultural elements with mainstream storytelling, became a major success and helped further establish Hombale Films as a prominent production banner in Indian cinema.
Expanding into distribution
Hombale Films has also been strengthening its presence in film distribution. The company is distributing Hanuman Ansh in overseas markets, taking the film to audiences outside India.
The move represents an expansion of the banner’s activities beyond producing films. By entering international distribution, Hombale Films is seeking to connect Indian content with audiences across different markets.
Its growing involvement in distribution also complements its expanding production slate, giving the banner a wider role across the film business.
Mahavatar Narsimha marks animation entry
One of the notable additions to Hombale Films’ portfolio is Mahavatar Narsimha, which marked the production house’s entry into the animated feature space.
The film draws from Indian mythology and cultural traditions and presents the story through animation. Its inclusion in Hombale Films’ slate reflects the company’s interest in formats beyond conventional live-action cinema.
The project also adds a new dimension to the banner’s portfolio, which has traditionally been associated with large-scale live-action productions.
Slate extends across regional industries
Hombale Films has increasingly expanded its activities beyond Kannada cinema, with projects connected to the Telugu and Malayalam industries as well.
Its upcoming slate includes Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, Mahavatar Parshuram, Suriya 48 and Yeto Ka Naay.
The banner is also set to collaborate with actor Hrithik Roshan on an upcoming project, further extending its reach into Hindi cinema.
The combination of established franchises, new mythology-based projects, animation and collaborations with actors from different industries reflects the production house’s expanding approach to Indian filmmaking.
Building a pan-India portfolio
Hombale Films’ growth has coincided with the increasing demand for films that can travel beyond their original language markets. The success of films such as KGF and Kantara demonstrated the potential of Kannada cinema to reach audiences across India.
The production house is now working across Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi cinema while also exploring animation and international distribution.
With a slate that includes franchise films, mythology-based projects, regional productions and collaborations with major actors, Hombale Films is continuing to broaden its footprint across the Indian entertainment industry.
Its latest initiatives indicate an approach that combines film production with distribution and multiple formats, as the banner looks to develop content for audiences across India and overseas markets.
