Chennai: Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 witnessed a strong recovery at the Indian box office on its second Saturday, collecting an estimated Rs 24.15 crore net across languages on Day 10. According to figures reported by Sacnilk, the film’s daily earnings increased by 66.6% from Friday’s collection of Rs 14.50 crore, signalling renewed audience interest over the second weekend.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the Tamil action drama has continued its theatrical run across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada markets. The sequel reportedly crossed the Rs 600 crore mark in worldwide gross collections within nine days of release and has now reached an estimated worldwide gross of Rs 666.30 crore.

The film’s domestic performance improved considerably on Saturday, while overseas collections continued to contribute significantly to its overall earnings. With advance bookings showing signs of growth, Jailer 2 is looking to maintain its momentum through the second weekend.

Jailer 2 Day 10 box office collection

According to Sacnilk’s reported estimates, Jailer 2 collected Rs 24.15 crore net in India on Day 10 across 11,591 shows. This took its total domestic net collection to approximately Rs 373 crore, while the India gross collection reached Rs 436.80 crore.

The Saturday collection marked a substantial increase over Day 9, when the film earned Rs 14.50 crore net. The recovery suggests that the film continued to attract audiences after a midweek slowdown.

Overseas, the sequel reportedly earned Rs 10 crore on Day 10, taking its cumulative overseas gross to Rs 229.50 crore.

Combining domestic and international earnings, the film’s reported worldwide gross stood at Rs 666.30 crore.

These figures are trade estimates and may be revised as further collection data becomes available.

Language-wise box office collection

The Tamil version remained the biggest contributor to Jailer 2’s domestic earnings on Day 10. The film also recorded collections in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, reflecting its release across multiple regional markets.

The reported language-wise Day 10 figures were:

LanguageDay 10 net collectionShows
TamilRs 16.25 crore5,545
TeluguRs 4.40 crore1,835
HindiRs 2.90 crore4,008
KannadaRs 60 lakh203
TotalRs 24.15 crore11,591

Tamil accounted for the largest share of the day’s earnings, contributing Rs 16.25 crore. The Telugu version followed with Rs 4.40 crore, while the Hindi version collected Rs 2.90 crore.

The Kannada version added Rs 60 lakh.

The figures show that Tamil remained the film’s principal market, although its performance in other languages also contributed to the overall domestic total.

Tamil and Hindi occupancy improve through the day

The film’s reported theatre occupancy figures also indicated stronger audience turnout during the later shows on Saturday.

The Tamil 2D version recorded an overall occupancy of 44.38%. Morning shows registered 29% occupancy, rising to 48.15% in the afternoon and 56% in the evening. Night shows recorded the highest occupancy at 65%.

The Hindi 2D version reported overall occupancy of 24.23%. Morning shows registered 12%, while afternoon occupancy stood at 19.33%. The figure increased to 28.25% in the evening and reached 37.33% during night shows.

The higher occupancy during evening and night screenings suggests that the film attracted more viewers as the day progressed.

However, occupancy figures reflect the proportion of seats filled in the reported shows and do not independently establish the film’s overall commercial performance. Screen counts, ticket prices and the number of shows also influence daily revenue.

Second-weekend advance bookings show growth

After experiencing a decline in daily collections during the week, Jailer 2 showed signs of renewed momentum ahead of Sunday.

The supplied trade figures placed advance sales for October 25 at Rs 10.82 crore. The film was projected to collect between Rs 60 crore and Rs 75 crore gross in India over the second weekend, although the final total would depend on walk-in audiences, additional bookings and the performance of individual markets.

The second weekend is an important phase for the film because it will indicate how well it can sustain audience interest after its opening stretch.

A rise in advance bookings can provide an early indication of demand, but it does not guarantee a particular final collection. Actual earnings depend on attendance, cancellations, ticket prices and the number of screenings conducted.

For Jailer 2, Saturday’s increase offered a positive sign after the weekday decline, while Sunday’s final figures will help establish whether the recovery can be sustained.

Jailer 2 day-wise box office collection

The film opened strongly on its first day before recording fluctuations over the following nine days.

The reported daily collections were:

DayIndia net collection
Day 1Rs 59.70 crore
Day 2Rs 37.10 crore
Day 3Rs 47.25 crore
Day 4Rs 55.85 crore
Day 5Rs 42.35 crore
Day 6Rs 46.80 crore
Day 7Rs 28.15 crore
Day 8Rs 17.15 crore
Day 9Rs 14.50 crore
Day 10Rs 24.15 crore

The opening day brought in Rs 59.70 crore, followed by Rs 37.10 crore on Day 2. Collections recovered over the first weekend, reaching Rs 47.25 crore on Day 3 and Rs 55.85 crore on Day 4.

The film continued to post substantial daily earnings through Day 6, when it collected Rs 46.80 crore. It then entered a declining phase, with earnings falling to Rs 28.15 crore on Day 7 and Rs 17.15 crore on Day 8.

Friday’s Rs 14.50 crore collection marked another drop. Saturday’s Rs 24.15 crore, however, represented a notable recovery.

The pattern highlights the importance of weekend footfalls for large theatrical releases, particularly those that open strongly and then experience a weekday slowdown.

Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian

Jailer 2 is a Tamil action drama directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, with Rajinikanth returning as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.

The sequel follows the success of the original Jailer, which established the character as one of Rajinikanth’s prominent recent roles. The follow-up brings back elements of the franchise while expanding its ensemble cast.

The film features Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Vinayakan, alongside actors including Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi and Hrithik Roshan, according to the supplied cast information.

The film was released in theatres on October 15, 2026, in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu.

Its multi-language release has helped it reach audiences beyond its core Tamil market, while the combination of Rajinikanth’s star power, action sequences and a large ensemble has kept the film in focus during its theatrical run.

Can Jailer 2 maintain its box office momentum?

With its reported worldwide gross reaching Rs 666.30 crore, Jailer 2 has established a substantial box office total in its first ten days.

Its Saturday recovery is encouraging after the decline recorded during the week. The Tamil version continued to lead domestic earnings, while the Telugu, Hindi and Kannada versions contributed to the overall total.

The next challenge will be to sustain collections as the film moves further into its theatrical run. Sunday’s final earnings, weekday hold and overseas performance will help determine how much further the sequel can climb.

For now, the reported Rs 24.15 crore net collection on Day 10 has given Jailer 2 a boost heading into the second weekend. The film’s subsequent performance will show whether the Saturday jump marks a temporary recovery or the beginning of a more sustained box office trend.
