Bengaluru: The makers of Mark, the upcoming Kannada action-thriller starring Kichcha Sudeep, unveiled the film’s trailer on Sunday ahead of its grand theatrical release on 25 December. Directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa, the film marks the successful actor–director duo’s second collaboration after the 2024 blockbuster Max, which too had released during the Christmas season.
Sudeep returns as a high-intensity police officer
In Mark, Kichcha Sudeep plays Ajay Markandayya, popularly known as Mark, a tough and sharp Superintendent of Police. The trailer opens with a chilling crisis — 18 children are abducted by an unidentified gang. As the investigation progresses, bodies begin surfacing, pushing the police into a race against time.
Mark is assigned to handle the case and is given just 18 hours to find the remaining missing children, setting the stage for an intense, time-bound rescue mission.
A dangerous face-off with a powerful antagonist
The story pits Mark against the influential politician Adikeshava, essayed by Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, along with his fierce associate Stephen, played by Tamil actor Guru Somasundaram. The trailer hints at a deadly power struggle involving political influence, hidden agendas and criminal networks.
The narrative appears to blend a police procedural with stylish action, as Mark employs unconventional strategies to ambush the gang. High-stakes confrontations, chase sequences and suspense-filled moments dominate the fast-paced trailer.
Similar gritty energy to Max, but with more mass appeal
Fans were quick to notice that Mark carries the same gritty, intense vibe as Max, but Kichcha Sudeep appears even more “mass” in his new avatar. His trademark swagger, punch dialogues, action choreography and pulsating dance moves have been emphasised in the trailer, promising a theatrical experience crafted for the holiday crowd.
Supporting cast and technical crew
The film features an ensemble of popular actors, including Yogi Babu, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Vikranth, Naveen Chandra, Deepshika, Roshni Prakash and others.
The technical team includes:
- Music: Ajaneesh B Loknath
- Cinematography: Shekar Chandra
- Editing: SR Ganesh Baabu
Their combined efforts contribute to the sleek, atmospheric and high-octane look showcased in the trailer.
Christmas clash at the box office
Mark is produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under Sathya Jyothi Films in collaboration with Kichcha Creatiions. The film’s Christmas Day release aims to draw festive audiences seeking big-screen entertainment.
The movie will open alongside 45, director Arjun Janya’s action-packed film featuring Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra and Raj B Shetty, setting up a major holiday box office face-off in Karnataka.
With hype building and Sudeep’s fanbase already in celebration mode, Mark is expected to be one of December’s biggest theatrical attractions.
