Mithun Kodattur Receives 5th Edition Brand Mangaluru Award 2024

Mangaluru, Jun 27: The 5th edition of the Brand Mangaluru Award 2024 was presented to Mithun Kodattur, a reporter at Hosadigantha, on Thursday, June 27, at the Press Club in Mangaluru.

The chief guest for the occasion, Anupam Agarwal, Police Commissioner of Mangaluru city, congratulated Mithun and emphasized the importance of recognizing both positive and negative aspects of society. Agarwal highlighted Mangaluru’s rich cultural heritage and contributions to the banking sector, expressing a need to re-establish Brand Mangaluru to its former glory. He acknowledged the journalists who showcase the positive side of Mangaluru and encouraged the community to strive for greater development, surpassing even Bengaluru.

Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur praised the press and media’s role in educating the masses. He highlighted the Brand Mangaluru initiative’s various programs in Dakshina Kannada and praised Mangaluru’s hospitality and multilingualism. Shetty noted the city’s excellent infrastructure, historical sites, and festivals that attract tourists. He emphasized the importance of preserving farmland and promoting sustainable development. Shetty commended Mithun’s work in highlighting traditional practices like paddy cultivation and called for collective efforts to elevate Mangaluru.

Srinivas Nayak, President of the Dakshina Kannada Union of Working Journalists, welcomed the gathering, and Jithendra Kundesh delivered the vote of thanks. The event was attended by MP Capt Ganesh Karnik, Vinod Pinto, Mohammad Iqbal, Harish Rai, Jaganath Shetty, and others.
