The actor, who is currently enjoying a busy phase with multiple projects across platforms, said she is now keen to move beyond her long-standing on-screen image of playing morally upright characters.

“I am very grateful that now the industry is giving me these opportunities. The tough call was to step away from the relatable, moral compass image,” she said.

“Almost 90% of the time I said no to shows and movies where I felt there wouldn’t be growth. I chose to wait for the right script,” she said.

“In my 40s, I am ready to explore even negative and grey characters. I want to do it. Why not? Women can do anything,” she said.
