Actor Pulkit Samrat, who is preparing for the release of his upcoming fantasy film Rahu Ketu, has opened up about the defining role his mother played in shaping his life and career. In a candid reflection, the actor shared that when his decision to move to Mumbai was opposed by most of his family, it was his mother who stood firmly by him and encouraged him to follow his dreams.

‘She believed I would become a hero’

Recalling the early days of his journey, Pulkit said his move to Mumbai was far from easy. “When the entire family was against my decision to relocate, my mother went against everyone and supported me. She truly believed I would go to Mumbai and become a hero,” he said. The actor acknowledged that her faith and courage gave him the confidence to take a leap of faith at a crucial moment in his life.

He described her support as unconditional, noting that her belief remained strong even when the path ahead was uncertain. According to Pulkit, this emotional backing became the foundation on which he built his career in the film industry.

Childhood love for fantasy cinema

Pulkit also spoke about why Rahu Ketu resonated deeply with him. He revealed that the fantasy genre has always held a special place in his heart, shaped by films he watched growing up. “Movies like Ajooba and Chhota Chetan left a lasting impression on me. Some moments in life feel like a continuation of what you once imagined as a child,” he said.

The moment he heard the script of Rahu Ketu, Pulkit felt an instant connection. For him, the film was not just another project, but an opportunity to live out a childhood dream rooted in imagination and wonder.

More than just a film choice

Explaining his decision to say yes to the project, Pulkit said it was about timing and personal relevance. “Everything seemed to align perfectly. It felt like the moment I had been waiting for,” he shared. The actor emphasised that choosing Rahu Ketu was driven as much by emotion and nostalgia as by professional considerations.

Pulkit Samrat’s journey, he believes, is a reminder that dreams nurtured in childhood, when supported by family and pursued with passion, can indeed turn into reality. His story stands as a quiet tribute to the power of a parent’s faith and the courage to follow one’s calling.
