A significant dust storm struck Mumbai on May 13, resulting in a tragic accident in the Ghatkopar area where a large hoarding collapsed, claiming the lives of 16 individuals. Among the victims were Manoj Chansoria, 60, a retired Air Traffic Control (ATC) general manager, and his wife Anita, 59. According to reports, they were relatives of actor Kartik Aaryan, who attended their funeral in Mumbai on Thursday.
Chansoria and his wife were refueling their car at a petrol pump near the collapsed hoarding while en route to their home in Madhya Pradesh when the structure fell on their vehicle, causing their deaths. The couple had traveled to Mumbai for visa-related matters as they planned to visit their son Yash in the United States, a dream that tragically went unfulfilled due to the accident.
Their bodies were recovered from the site 50 hours after the incident, and their final rites were conducted at the Sahar crematorium, with Kartik and other family members in attendance. However, Kartik has not made any public statement regarding the incident.
Currently, Kartik is busy with promotional activities for his upcoming film, “Chandu Champion,” directed by Kabir Khan, promising a new portrayal by the actor. The film’s posters have already created a buzz on social media, and the trailer is scheduled for release on May 18.
