Dr Priyadarshini receives Silver Screen Woman Achiever Award.

Bengaluru: Every year the Universal Film Producers Council and Nava Karnataka Film Academy hold an award ceremony to recognise & honour women achievers from the film fraternity and other fields. For the year 2023, the award ceremony was recently held in Town Hall, Bengaluru in a grand manner with celebrities from India and abroad. There was a felicitation to actor Suman Talwar for his successful completion of 700 films in ten different languages.

Dr Priyadarshini, playback singer received the Silver Screen Woman Achiever Award for the year 2023 in recognition of her contribution to Indian cinema as a playback singer as well as for becoming the first playback singer to do research in 100 years of Film music and earning a doctorate. Priyadarshini who has lent her voice as a playback singer for more than 180 movies in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi has also sung for over 800 songs for private albums in 10 languages. Addressing the media she said “I am happy to have got recognised for my work and this award inspires me to work even harder. I will always be grateful to my parents who encouraged me in my music journey and thankful to all music directors from the film industry & Dr Mummigatti for recognising my contribution to the film industry and giving me this award”.

Actor Suman Talwar, Chief Guest Shri Basavaraj Horatti, Chairman, Karnataka Legislative Council, Ba Ma Harish, President, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Velu, Director Lahari Music, Dr Mummigatti, President, Nava Karnataka Film Academy presented the award.

Actress Vijayalaxmi Singh, Radhika Ramachandra, Jayashree, Advithi Shetty, Padma Vasanthi, Jyothi, and Singer Archana Udupa also received awards on the same occasion. Guests Shivakumar, President Karnataka Press Council, Music Composer Mahesh Mahadev, Senior Actress Bhavya, Anusha Santhirasthipam from Malaysia, Dr V Nagaraj, Chairman, Sambhram Group, S K Anantha, Cine Artist, Sunil Mahadev, Director, Shivashakthi Group, Dr Nirmala, HOP, Chandana Doordarshan, Lion Sai Venkat, Producer from Telugu Film Industry, were present on this occasion.
