In an industry where 4 am workouts and ultra-strict diets are often worn like badges of honour, Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna has surprised fans by revealing a lifestyle that is refreshingly simple and deeply personal. The actor, who plays the chilling antagonist Rehman Dakait in the blockbuster Dhurandhar, says his fitness is not built on trends, but on consistency, rest, and listening to his own body.

No breakfast, no snacking

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Khanna revealed that he has skipped breakfast for decades — a habit that goes against most modern fitness advice.

“For as long as I can remember, even today, I never eat breakfast. I go straight to lunch and then dinner. Even between lunch and dinner, I don’t eat anything at all, not even a sandwich or a biscuit,” he said.

Unlike many celebrities who rely on frequent “healthy” snacks, Khanna prefers to stay fasted for most of the day. His only indulgence between meals is a cup of evening tea, which he never misses.

Sleep is non-negotiable

Perhaps the most striking part of Khanna’s routine is his commitment to rest. While many actors boast about surviving on four or five hours of sleep, he believes proper sleep is essential for long-term health.

“I sleep about 10 hours a day,” he revealed, adding that downtime and recovery are just as important as diet or exercise. Fans online have called it a luxury, but Khanna sees it as a necessity.

Simple, home-style meals

Khanna’s meals are as uncomplicated as his outlook. Lunch usually consists of dal, rice, one vegetable, and a portion of chicken or fish. Dinner follows a similar pattern, with rotis, vegetables, and a chicken dish.

Importantly, this routine does not change during film shoots. The actor believes consistency matters more than extreme diet plans or short-term restrictions.

A sweet tooth, guilt-free

Breaking another Bollywood stereotype, Khanna admitted he does not avoid sweets. “My favourite foods are lychee, bhindi and cake. I can eat anything sweet,” he said, stressing that enjoyment and balance are part of a healthy life.

With Dhurandhar crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark, Akshaye Khanna is riding a career high. Yet, his grounded lifestyle proves that fitness does not always require extremes — sometimes, simplicity is the real secret.
