Mumbai: Hollywood actor Noah Centineo has revealed that his Street Fighter co-star Vidyut Jammwal invited him to visit India, with the actor suggesting that the trip could happen towards the end of 2026 or early next year.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Centineo spoke about his experience working with Jammwal on the upcoming video game adaptation and recalled an unusual encounter during the filming of a fight sequence. The actor described how Jammwal’s words and confidence left a strong impression on him, while also recounting a hands-on experience that he felt helped ease his physical soreness.

Centineo, known for playing Peter Kavinsky in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, is stepping into the action genre with Street Fighter. Jammwal, meanwhile, is making his Hollywood debut in the film, playing Dhalsim, one of the franchise’s most recognisable fighters.

The two actors developed a rapport during filming, with Centineo praising his Indian co-star’s support and revealing that Jammwal had repeatedly encouraged him to visit the country.

Noah Centineo praises Vidyut Jammwal’s support

Speaking about working with Jammwal, Centineo described the experience as incredible and said the Indian actor had been supportive throughout their time together.

“He was so supportive of me. His words, his belief I don’t know how to explain this. When Vidyut speaks to you and shares his thoughts about you or your life, the words truly are translations for energy,” Centineo said.

He added that Jammwal’s way of communicating made a strong impression on him.

“And you can feel the energy behind the words, right? It’s not just vibrations going into your ears. He’s sending you information that gets translated verbally. He’s a powerful human being,” the actor said.

Centineo’s comments highlighted the personal connection he felt with Jammwal beyond their work on the film. The Indian actor is known for his martial arts practice and physically demanding routines, while his public approach often combines discussions of fitness, discipline and mental focus.

For Centineo, the experience of working alongside Jammwal appears to have involved learning about the actor’s approach to physical training and wellbeing, as well as collaborating on action sequences.

Centineo recalls unusual experience during fight sequence

One of the most memorable moments Centineo described involved a fight sequence between his character, Ken Masters, and Jammwal’s Dhalsim.

Centineo said he mentioned feeling a little sore while they were working on the scene. Jammwal then asked him to lie down, leaving the Hollywood actor initially unsure about what was happening.

“He goes, ‘Lie down.’ And I was like, ‘Okay,’ and I lie down. And he stands on my back,” Centineo recalled.

He said Jammwal then used his feet around his face, neck and shoulders while making movements that Centineo described as forceful.

“I think he is from a family with a history of doctors and healers. He just puts his feet on my face, my neck, and my shoulders, and he’s just going, ‘Boom, boom,’ and I’m like, ‘Ah, ah!’” Centineo said.

According to the actor, the interaction lasted around two minutes. He recalled that Jammwal then stopped and walked away, prompting Centineo to get up and assess how he felt.

“And I stand up, and I’m like, ‘Healed!’ It was incredible. I was like, ‘You just walked away?’” Centineo said.

His account was delivered as a recollection of an unusual experience with his co-star. It does not establish that the technique is a medically recognised treatment, and such physical manipulation should not be attempted without appropriate professional guidance.

Vidyut Jammwal invites Noah Centineo to India

Centineo also confirmed that Jammwal had invited him to visit India on several occasions.

The Hollywood actor said his co-star had been enthusiastic about showing him around the country and introducing him to places and experiences beyond the film set.

“He invited me adamantly a few times and said, ‘Come to India. I will show you my country.’ And I was like, ‘I will be there,’” Centineo recalled.

The invitation appears to have made an impression on the actor, who responded positively when asked whether Jammwal had managed to convince him to make the trip.

The prospect of a visit could also give Indian fans an opportunity to see Centineo outside his film promotions and Hollywood appearances. However, the actor has not confirmed a travel itinerary or specific dates.

Centineo’s comments suggest that he is open to visiting India and is considering when the trip might fit into his schedule.

When could Noah Centineo visit India?

Asked when he might travel to India, Centineo suggested that a visit could take place around the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.

“This is the right question to ask. Oh man, maybe at the end of this year or the beginning of next. That would be lovely if I could. I’ll talk to Vidyut. Let me talk to Vidyut,” he said.

The response indicated interest rather than a confirmed travel plan. The timing will depend on the actor’s schedule and any arrangements made with Jammwal.

For now, Indian fans will have to wait for an official announcement before treating the possible visit as definite.

Nevertheless, Centineo’s remarks have added an India connection to the conversation around Street Fighter, with Jammwal emerging as a link between the Hollywood production and his home country.

Vidyut makes his Hollywood debut with Street Fighter

The upcoming Street Fighter film is based on the long-running video game franchise, which is known for its distinctive characters, fighting styles and international cast of martial artists.

Centineo plays Ken Masters, a central character in the franchise who is recognised for his striking techniques and rivalry with Ryu.

Jammwal plays Dhalsim, a fighter known for his flexibility, yoga-inspired movements and unusual combat abilities. The role provides the Indian martial artist with an opportunity to bring elements of his physical training to an international action production.

Jammwal has built his career around action-oriented roles and martial arts performances in Indian cinema. His casting as Dhalsim has drawn attention because the character’s movement and fighting style require considerable body control and flexibility.

The actor has also shared glimpses of his preparation for the role, including Kalaripayattu training and discussions about the importance of mental discipline.

For Centineo, the film marks a move into a different kind of performance from the romantic comedies that first made him widely known. His collaboration with Jammwal has also provided opportunities to work on physically demanding sequences.

Street Fighter releases in India

Street Fighter is scheduled to release in Indian theatres on October 16, according to the supplied report.

The film brings together actors from different entertainment industries for an adaptation of a franchise with a global following. Its cast and action sequences are expected to be central to the film’s appeal among fans of the original games.

Centineo’s comments about Jammwal offer a glimpse into the relationships formed during production, while the possible India visit adds another point of interest for audiences following the film’s release.

Although no visit has been confirmed, Centineo’s willingness to consider travelling to India reflects the positive impression he says his co-star made on him.

A connection beyond the film set

Centineo’s interview focused on more than the physical demands of filming Street Fighter. His account also highlighted the support he received from Jammwal and the personal impression left by their interactions.

From the unusual moment during a fight-sequence rehearsal to repeated invitations to visit India, the actor described a working relationship that extended beyond their on-screen characters.

Jammwal’s Hollywood debut also places him in a position to introduce international co-stars to aspects of his background and culture. Centineo’s possible visit remains tentative, but his comments suggest that the invitation has been taken seriously.

As Street Fighter reaches Indian cinemas, the conversation between the two actors has given fans an additional reason to follow their association. Whether Centineo makes the trip later this year or in early 2027 remains to be seen, but the actor has indicated that he would welcome the opportunity.
