Actor-dancer Nora Fatehi has said she is safe after being involved in a car accident in Mumbai on Saturday afternoon, allegedly caused by an intoxicated driver, while she was on her way to attend the Sunburn Festival.
Minor injuries, condition stable
The accident occurred around 4 pm when another vehicle rammed into the car carrying Fatehi. According to the Mumbai Police, the actor sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for first aid. Doctors later confirmed that her condition was stable.
Police said the driver has been booked under sections related to rash driving and driving under the influence. Further investigation is underway.
“One of the most terrifying moments,” says actor
Hours after the incident, Fatehi shared an emotional update on Instagram Stories, describing the crash as “one of the most terrifying and traumatic moments” of her life. She said the impact flung her across the car, causing her to hit her head against the window.
“I’m alive, and I’m well. Except for some minor injuries, swelling and a slight concussion, I’m okay. I’m grateful for that,” she wrote, adding that she was still shaken by the experience.
Strong message on road safety
The actor strongly condemned drunk driving, urging people to be responsible on the road. She said it was shocking that such incidents continue to occur. “Don’t drink and drive. It’s 2025. I can’t believe this still happens, especially in the afternoon,” she said, calling for greater awareness and accountability.
Performs despite trauma
Fatehi also explained why she went ahead with her scheduled appearance at the festival despite the ordeal. She said she refuses to let such incidents derail her professional commitments. “I don’t let anything get in the way of my work, ambition and opportunities,” she said.
Busy slate ahead
Sunburn, traditionally held in Goa, is being organised in Mumbai this year and runs from December 19 to 21. On the work front, Fatehi has several projects lined up, including her South Indian cinema debut with Kanchana 4 and KD: The Devil. She was recently seen in Be Happy, Uff Yeh Siyappa, and the web series The Royals.
