Bengaluru police have issued a notice to a senior sub-inspector following the discovery that Pavitra Gowda, a murder accused and actress, was wearing make-up while in police custody. The officer has been asked to explain the situation after Gowda was seen with make-up on while exiting her house post-mahazar.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) S Girish stated, “The visuals of Pavitra Gowda coming out of her house after mahazar with make-up came to our attention. A notice has been issued to the sub-inspector, and he was asked to submit an explanation regarding this.”

Explanation from Police

Police officials reported to their seniors that Pavitra Gowda might have applied make-up when she was allowed to use the washroom. They mentioned that she has been carrying her make-up kit during police custody. The incident gained significant attention after a video of Pavitra smiling post-mahazar at her Bengaluru residence went viral.

Case Background

Pavitra Gowda, the partner of actor Darshan, is accused of instigating the brutal murder of Renukaswamy. The victim’s body was found near a stormwater drain next to an apartment in Sumanahalli on June 9. The post-mortem report concluded that Renukaswamy died due to shock and haemorrhage, with evidence of electric shocks and 39 injuries, including seven burns, as part of the torture.
