Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, which premiered on Prime Video on August 1, 2025, topped the OTT charts for the week of August 4–10, as per Ormax Media. Surprisingly, the Tamil gem Paranthu Po secured the second spot, now streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium. Its achievement is remarkable, especially without the star draw of recent OTT releases like Nithiin’s Thammudu, Siddharth’s 3BHK, or Tovino Thomas’ Nadikar.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ram, Paranthu Po tells a touching story about a young boy and his deep connection with his father. The heartwarming drama garnered 2.2 million views during the week, making it the most-watched South Indian film on OTT.
Other notable performers include 3BHK with 1.7 million views and Thammudu with 1.2 million. Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Hindi film Sarzameen, co-starring Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan, also maintained its presence in the top five with 1.4 million views since its direct-to-OTT debut on July 25, 2025.
The narrative of Paranthu Po follows Anbu, a spirited child, and his father Gokul, who, along with his wife, is struggling to make ends meet. A spontaneous road trip helps them rediscover life’s simple joys. Mithul Ryan charms as Anbu, Shiva plays Gokul, and Grace Antony portrays the mother. Notably, Malayalam actor Aju Varghese delivers a standout performance, earning praise from superstar Mammootty.
