Veteran actor Pravina Deshpande passed away on Tuesday, February 17, following a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 60. Her family confirmed the news through her official Instagram account, stating that her cremation was held the same day at the Hindu Crematorium in Chakala Parsiwada, Andheri East.

A career spanning decades

Deshpande built a respected body of work across Hindi and Marathi cinema, television and theatre. She shared screen space with Salman Khan in the 2011 hit Ready, a performance that brought her widespread recognition. She also featured in Ek Villain and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, delivering emotionally nuanced performances even in supporting roles.

Her final screen appearance was in Taskaree, marking the end of a long and dedicated acting journey.

A familiar face on television

On the small screen, Deshpande became a household name through popular serials such as Ghar Ek Mandir, Kumkum, Karam Apnaa Apnaa and Kulfi Kumar Bajewala. Known for her professionalism and discipline, she earned admiration from colleagues and was often praised for mentoring younger actors.
