Actress Priyanka Chopra has opened up about her late father, Ashok Chopra, and shared why she believes he would have personally approved of her husband, Nick Jonas.
In a recent interview on Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals, a clip of which was shared by E! News, Priyanka spoke warmly about the bond Nick might have shared with her father, who passed away in 2013 after battling cancer.
A shared love for music
Priyanka revealed that her father had a deep passion for music — he enjoyed singing and appreciating the art form. Given that Nick is a musician, she feels the two would have connected instantly.
“He is exactly the kind of person my dad would have picked for me,” she said, describing Nick as a “prodigy and a wise soul.” She added that her father would have respected him not only for his talent but also for his character.
A lingering regret
The actress also expressed a personal regret — that her father never got to meet Nick or her daughter, Malti Marie. “That would have been a wish of mine,” she admitted.
Reflecting on her journey from India to the United States, including her foray into pop music and eventually meeting Nick, Priyanka described it as serendipitous. She said she often feels as though unseen forces guided her path toward the life she has today.
What’s next for Priyanka?
On the professional front, Priyanka was recently seen in The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers and co-starring Karl Urban. She is also set to return to Indian cinema with filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli’s upcoming project alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, slated for release in April 2027.
Through her reflections, Priyanka offered fans a glimpse into a deeply personal side — one shaped by love, loss and a belief that some journeys unfold exactly as they are meant to.
