What is Resident Evil about?
Directed by Zach Cregger, the latest Resident Evil film follows a courier who is sent to a remote hospital to deliver a package.
The seemingly straightforward assignment takes a dangerous turn when the courier becomes caught in the middle of an outbreak.
He is then forced to fight mutated creatures while attempting to survive the escalating threat.
The film combines action and horror elements and has a reported runtime of 1 hour and 34 minutes.
Resident Evil cast and release details
The film features Austin Abrams, Paul Walter Hauser and Kali Reis in key roles.
The latest instalment is another cinematic adaptation connected to Capcom’s popular Resident Evil video-game franchise.
In India, the film has an A certificate and was released in four languages — English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu — on September 18.
With the film now entering its second week, its performance over the coming days will determine whether it can maintain its weekday hold and add significantly to its India total.
For now, the Rs 14.85 crore net collection after seven days shows that the horror reboot has continued to attract audiences despite the expected post-opening-week decline.
