Bengaluru-based musician Ricky Kej, a three-time Grammy winner, has set his sights on a fourth win with his nomination for the 2025 Grammys. Nominated in the New Age Album category for his album Break of Dawn, Kej is optimistic about continuing his winning streak. Reflecting on his past victories, he shared, “I’ve been fortunate to win three out of three, and I’m hoping for four out of four.”

Break of Dawn is inspired by a philosophical quote about environmental purity, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a 2015 Hindu-Buddhist conference. Kej’s work explores themes of mind and environment, aiming to provoke thought and reflection.

Other nominees in the same category include renowned sitarist Anoushka Shankar for her album Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn, along with Radhika Vekaria’s Warriors of Light and Triveni by Chandrika Tandon, featuring Wouter Kellerman and Eru Matsumoto.

Kej also expressed his admiration for Shankar and legendary composer Hans Zimmer, both of whom he hopes to collaborate with in the future. He’s previously met Zimmer twice at the Grammys, and is hopeful that a future partnership will come to fruition.

The 2025 Grammy Awards will be held on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
