Mumbai: Actor Gautam Gulati has emerged as the latest Ultimate Ruler on Rise & Fall Season 2 after defeating Manish Goel and Rishabh Jaiswal in a tactical hockey challenge. Following his victory, Gautam renamed the Tower Gautam City, marking his arrival at the top of the reality show’s power structure.
The latest contest combined strategic negotiations, shifting alliances and a last-minute decision that changed the outcome of the final challenge. Gautam’s victory came after a tense round in which contestants had to manage their scores and goalposts while attempting to stay ahead of their rivals.
The race for the title began in the Red Room, where the Rulers were asked to use their intelligence and decision-making skills rather than rely on physical strength. Discussions among the contestants soon led to disagreements and changes in alliances, eventually narrowing the competition to Gautam, Manish and Rishabh.
Red Room negotiations change the course of the contest
The race for Ultimate Ruler began with Jashwanth and Manish entering the Red Room. The Lift instructed the Rulers to focus on strategy and intelligence, setting the tone for a round in which decisions made behind the scenes would influence the final result.
During the discussions, Manish and Jashwanth agreed that Rishabh could compete against Niharika Tiwari. Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Gautam were subsequently asked to choose between Manish and Jashwanth.
They decided to eliminate Jashwanth from the race, a move that left him upset. Jashwanth confronted Priyanka over what he believed was a departure from their earlier understanding.
Meanwhile, Rishabh refused to support Gautam’s elimination, even as Niharika argued that Gautam’s name should be put forward. The competing opinions revealed how alliances and individual ambitions were shaping the race for the crown.
Further discussions followed, with Rishabh and Niharika eventually reaching an agreement that resulted in Priyanka’s elimination. The decisions left Gautam, Manish and Rishabh as the final three contenders for the Ultimate Ruler title.
With the negotiations concluded, the contestants moved to the decisive stage of the competition, where their tactical choices would be tested in a hockey challenge.
Hockey challenge puts strategy to the test
The final challenge involved a hockey match in which the contestants had to defend their goalposts while attempting to score against their opponents. The rules added a financial element to the task, as selecting each Worker cost Rs 1 lakh from the prize pot.
Gautam chose Irina Rudakova to support him, Manish selected Shehzad Poonawalla, and Rishabh picked Karan. Swara Bhasker initially took responsibility for keeping score.
The challenge was designed to test both performance and decision-making. The two contestants who conceded the most goals would lose, meaning that maintaining a favourable score was just as important as scoring against the other players.
A buzzer introduced an additional twist, allowing the Rulers to swap their goalposts and scores. Each contestant was required to complete two swaps, creating opportunities to change the standings during the match.
Gautam and Irina initially gained an advantage, but Manish’s first swap altered the scoreboard and changed the contest’s momentum. The changing positions meant that no contestant could rely on an early lead to secure victory.
The challenge became more complicated when Shehzad suffered an injury. Sara Gurpal stepped in after the incident, while Jashwanth took over the responsibility of keeping score.
Gautam’s last-minute move seals the victory
As the match progressed, the contestants continued to use the permitted swaps to improve their positions. Gautam’s first swap did little to alter the contest, with the scores remaining level.
He subsequently exchanged places with Manish, prompting further changes in the standings. Rishabh then swapped with Manish and briefly moved ahead, putting pressure on Gautam as the clock continued to run down.
With the final buzzer approaching, Gautam made his decisive move. He used his final swap to exchange places with Rishabh just before time ran out.
The timing proved crucial. The last-minute decision changed the outcome of the challenge and helped Gautam secure the Ultimate Ruler title, with Irina’s support contributing to his success.
The result underlined the importance of timing and tactical judgement in a task where a single move could overturn the standings. Rather than relying only on the initial lead, Gautam continued to assess the situation and used his final opportunity to gain the advantage he needed.
His win also brought the contest’s earlier negotiations to a close, leaving Manish and Rishabh behind in the race for the crown.
Gautam renames the Tower Gautam City
After securing the title, Gautam announced that he was renaming the Tower Gautam City. The change marked his arrival as the latest Ultimate Ruler and added a personal stamp to his victory.
The announcement drew mixed reactions from the contestants, reflecting the rivalries and disagreements that had developed throughout the contest.
Niharika was particularly disappointed with Rishabh. She felt that the sacrifice she had made during the negotiations had gone to waste because he had failed to capitalise on his opportunity to win the crown.
Her reaction highlighted the consequences of the alliances formed in the Red Room. While the negotiations had helped determine who would reach the final round, the hockey challenge ultimately decided who would claim the title.
Gautam’s victory therefore emerged from a combination of strategic decisions and execution under pressure. His final swap proved decisive, while the changing alliances earlier in the contest determined the field of competitors.

The reactions from Niharika and the other contestants also suggest that the consequences of the Red Room negotiations may continue to influence relationships inside the show.
