Hyderabad: Rohit Saraf is all set to make his Telugu cinema debut with Mahakali, the latest project from filmmaker Prashanth Varma. The actor confirmed the news through a social media post, expressing excitement and pride about joining the ambitious mythological superhero universe.
The film, which is being promoted as India’s first female-led superhero movie, is part of Prashanth Varma’s expanding cinematic universe following the blockbuster success of HanuMan.
Set against the cultural backdrop of Bengal, Mahakali aims to present a bold and modern interpretation of Goddess Kali while focusing on themes of empowerment, faith and resilience.
Rohit Saraf shares excitement about Telugu debut
Rohit Saraf announced his involvement in the project through Instagram, where he shared a photograph posing with the film’s poster.
Expressing his enthusiasm, the actor said he was “very proud to step into the world of Mahakali,” adding that the opportunity was something he had never imagined.
The announcement quickly generated excitement among fans, especially as this marks Rohit’s first major venture into Telugu cinema after building popularity through Hindi films and streaming projects.
Rohit has earned recognition for performances in projects such as Hichki, The Sky Is Pink and Mismatched.
