Actor Salman Khan‘s security has been significantly reinforced in the wake of the recent murder of his close friend and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. The actor’s safety is now under the vigilant supervision of the Mumbai Police, reflecting heightened concerns regarding his well-being amid ongoing threats.
As part of the new security protocols, Salman Khan has been granted Y-plus security, which includes a police escort vehicle accompanying him at all times. Sources have revealed that a constable trained in weapons is now part of Khan’s security detail. This escalation in protective measures comes after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Siddique’s murder, citing his close ties with the actor as a motive.
According to reports, local police stations will be informed of Salman Khan’s whereabouts whenever he is on location for a shoot. A police team will be deployed to monitor these shooting locations to ensure the actor’s safety.
Security has also been heightened at Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra. Additional personnel have been stationed both inside and outside the property. The Navi Mumbai Police have established blockades around the area to conduct checks on vehicles, ensuring that any traffic around the farmhouse is closely monitored. There is only one access road to the farmhouse, which runs through a village, making it easier for security forces to manage potential threats.
In June, police had thwarted a planned assassination attempt on Khan by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who had aimed to attack him with AK-47 rifles near his farmhouse. This incident occurred shortly after two gunmen fired shots outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra.
Salman Khan is currently hosting the 18th season of the reality show Bigg Boss. Reports indicate that his production team is tightening security around him during the filming of the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episodes. Despite the increased threats, there has been no change to Khan’s filming schedule, and he is expected to continue working on his projects.
The heightened security measures follow closely on the heels of Baba Siddique’s murder, which took place shortly after Khan filmed an episode of Bigg Boss. Siddique was shot dead outside his office in Mumbai on October 12, with two shooters and a co-conspirator arrested soon after.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Baba Siddique’s murder via a Facebook post, alleging that the former minister was targeted due to his connections with Salman Khan and purported links to underworld figures, including Dawood Ibrahim. The post also referenced Anuj Thapan, an individual implicated in the shooting incident outside Khan’s home, who tragically died by suicide in police custody.
As the investigation into Siddique’s murder unfolds, the focus remains on ensuring the safety of Salman Khan and addressing the threats posed by organised crime. With significant public and media attention on this situation, the actor’s safety and the broader implications of such violent acts in the film industry and political sphere are of paramount concern.
